The Asian Pacific American Bar Association of the Greater Washington, D.C. Area, Inc. (“APABA-DC”) held its 2015 Awards and Installation Gala on September 25, 2015 at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC.  As the oldest and largest association of Asian Pacific American attorneys in the Washington, D.C. area, APABA-DC has been at the forefront of the professional growth and advancement of the Asian American legal community, and the cultivation of the Asian Pacific American (“APA”) community.

Traditionally, the Awards and Installation Gala is an opportunity to recognize APA leaders in the legal profession and to celebrate the new board members of the organization.  This year’s awards and honorees were as follows:

  • Membership Appreciation Award: Elina Hum, Partner, Hum Law Firm PLLC
  • Pioneer Award: Javade Chaudhri, Partner, Jones Day
  • Rising Star Awards: Eden Forsynthe, Legislative Counsel for Representative Sander Levin and Maya Song, Assistant U.S. Attorney, Cybercrime Unit, Eastern District of Virginia
  • Community Appreciation Award: Annamaria Steward, Associate Dean of Students at the University of District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law

DLA Piper was a proud sponsor of the event and several diverse attorneys of the firm were in attendance.

Once again, DLA Piper would like to congratulate the honorees and the new board members of APABA-DC!
